Manufacturing Process Engineer
Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to lead in the design and implementation of complex manufacturing processes, transforming broad concepts into structured, results-focused projects. The role involves improving products, processes, and components to meet objectives, supporting new product introductions, managing the transition of products from prototype to production, and partnering with various teams to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Lead the day-to-day manufacturing operations of an advanced thin film deposition facility.

Utilize materials characterization and analytical techniques for thin film coatings and substrate materials.

Design and execute hypothesis-driven experiments; analyze, summarize, and document results.

Provide technical leadership to operators to sustain and improve manufacturing processes.

Participate in new product introduction, including influencing design for manufacturability and global supply chain conformance.

Manage the transition of products and processes from prototype to full production, and through the entire product lifecycle.

Partner with procurement and technical services to improve products and processes.

Collaborate with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.

Process Engineer Specific Duties:

Monitor, maintain, and improve existing PVD and electroplating operations.

Lead failure analysis investigations to determine and address root causes of defects.

Support global collaborations to develop new coating operations.

Research, specify, source, and qualify materials used in Agilent products.

Plan, evaluate, and recommend technical, quality, and cost specifications to meet design and business objectives.

Identify and qualify alternative materials as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other related Science or Engineering degrees.

4+ years of relevant work experience.

Experience working in a chemical manufacturing or laboratory environment.

Experience leading root cause investigations.

Demonstrated application of statistics to manufacturing operations as well as use of analytical techniques such as SEM.

Desired experience: Physical or chemical vapor deposition equipment, vacuum technology, and electroplating or other electrochemical processes.
