Manufacturing Process Engineer II

The Manufacturing Process Engineer for Large Assembly will focus on optimizing and improving the manufacturing processes for large-scale assemblies. The role requires designing efficient workflows, troubleshooting production issues, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, to achieve manufacturing goals. Key Responsibilities + Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for large assembly production. Including Work center Flow Cell Layout & Design. + Create and update work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). + Interact, provide insight and influence at all levels from shop floor associates to business leaders, in leading and encouraging best shop practices. + Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to large-scale assembly processes providing root cause analysis and corrective actions. + Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth operations and meet production targets. + Ensure processes comply with quality standards and industry regulations. + Lead root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions. + Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and implement Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and increase efficiency. + Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. + Specify, procure, and maintain equipment and tooling needed for large assembly processes. + Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards. + Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. + Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and propose action plans. + Work with design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products (DFM). + Liaise with supply chain teams to ensure timely material availability. + Lead/guide/mentor entry level Manufacturing Process Engineers Education & Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and 3-6 years of related experience + 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in large-scale assembly. + Experience with hydraulic assemblies desired. + Knowledge of Fabrication, CNC and Welding a plus Skills & Competencies: + Strong understanding of assembly processes, tools, and techniques. + Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Edge/Solid Works preferred) + Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, (LN preferred). + Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working in a team-oriented environment. Certifications (Preferred): + Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification. + Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE). Physical Requirements: + Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. + Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
