Manufacturing Production/Planner II
**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, this position is responsible for resolving and handling adequate Raw, Finished Goods, and WIP inventory levels to meet customer delivery service expectations for Make-To-Stock, Make-To-Order and Purchased Finished Goods products while also meeting inventory objectives. This position also has responsibility for tactical purchasing functions. This position requires a high degree of analytical capability with a combination of both strategic and tactical skills to optimize the balance between customer expectations, inventory, capacity, lead-time, lot-size and other supply factors. The role collaborates with LCD Sourcing, Customer Service, Production Planning, Purchasing Buyer/Planners, Manufacturing, Demand Planning, Components Warehouse, Distribution, and suppliers daily. The supplier base includes domestic and international Thermo Fisher affiliates and external vendors. What will you do? + Actively build and handle Production Schedules daily, based on Customer forecasts, open orders, while optimizing manufacturing sequence. Consider set-up time, scrap, material changes, component availability, and lot sizing. + Measure and analyze Manufacturing schedule execution accuracy metrics to drive improvements applying problem solving tools (RCCM). + Monitor, apply judgment and react to inventory, backorder and service levels of manufactured finished goods to achieve customer service and business objectives. + Provide accountability for planning supporting customized / engineered-to-order products (purchased and manufactured). + Handle daily MRP exception reports for purchased Components supporting manufacturing schedules and Finished Goods while optimizing on-hand inventory and meeting service requirements. + Lead the team in ensuring timely delivery of product from vendors and pro-actively communicate any delays/shortages. + Actively handle Slow Moving and Excess & Obsolete stock applying established business processes and systems. + Communicate material supply issues proactively with all required business functions. + Maintain appropriate material master data in SAP and other systems as appropriate. (Material Masters, Info Records, Source Lists, Min/Max levels, Min Buy, Lot Size, Lead-Time, etc.) + Support Manufacturing and Warehouse GEMBA programs. Lead team in resolving shortages of purchased materials and customer expedites that require escalation through operations. + Support lean material flow initiatives. + Support new product launches / product discontinuance programs. + Coordinate third-party materials requirements with the warehouse and label room. + Investigate and recommend corrections to quantity exceptions in Receiving and Line locations. Expedite critical materials through receipts and inspection. Work with the member of Finance Team to ensure proper and accurate invoicing. + Participate on PPI, LEAN, SAP, Safety and other Project Teams as assigned. + Generate Performance Metrics reports for stock availability, lead time and backorders as required to communicate production status throughout the organization. + Participate in long range capacity planning analysis for manufacturing work centers. Recommend capacity expansions as needed based on demand analysis and contribute to capital requisition process. + Participate in labor planning analysis and recommend staffing levels to manufacturing operations. Keys to Success: **Education** + Bachelor Degree in Business or Science field is preferred. Exceptions can be granted to a candidate with an exceptional talent in a purchasing or production planning environment. **Experience** + Minimum of 3 years in experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment, (SAP experience preferred) + Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Production planning and Manufacturing/Operations environment. **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities** + Knowledge of SIOP/S&OE principles and practices + Skilled in MS-Office tools (particularly Excel, Power BI, charting, data sorting, filtering, pivot-tables, look-up). + Strong analytical skills. + Experience in project planning and inventory reduction initiatives is a plus. + Must possess solid understanding of LEAN concepts, such as vendor led inventory, lot size optimization, and Kanban.
