Job Title: Manufacturing Project Engineer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The role of Manufacturing Project Engineer is to direct, coordinate, and exercise high-level functional authority in the planning and organizing of the Manufacturing Stage of projects from initial RFI Stage through Customer Acceptance. Through effective and accurate planning this position ensures the completion of high-level projects by creating accurate Manufacturing project schedules and solutions to design challenges and production delays to provide a high-quality product in accordance with customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Project Management
Develop the Manufacturing build cost estimate based on customer requirements defined in the Product Definition. Develop the Manufacturing project schedule by studying the project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements. Drive scheduling details through demand in ERP system using backward scheduling for initial Project creation. Support Project Management as part of Cross-Functional Project Team taking the lead on Manufacturing activities and updates. Prepare project Manufacturing status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends then recommending actions. Provide direct oversight of Manufacturing activities relating to Shipping and Commissioning Project Stages.Engineering Management
Review engineering design and documentation while collaborating with engineering to create manufacturable structures. Provide feedback to Engineering on design issues discovered during the build process. Evaluate and approve engineering design change, specification, and documentation releases through Redline and ECO processes.Production / Manufacturing Management
Maintain project schedule Milestones by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems. Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan, and schedule changes then recommending actions. Control project Labor costs by approving engineering releases and change orders; and entering Forecast updates. Collaborate with Production Manager and Value Stream Leaders on execution of project Schedule and Labor Cost Milestones. Contribute to team effort by involvement in Continuing Process Improvement initiatives. Assist and train less experienced Manufacturing Project Engineers.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Experience: 5+ years’ related experience, 3+ years’ experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems. Or 2+ years’ of Loram Manufacturing or Engineering experience.
Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Railroad Certifications, Lead/Six Sigma Green Belt and lead Kaizen event or continuous improvement project.
*Or 9+ years of combination of education and experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Project Management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 3+ years’ experience working with Microsoft Projects.

Loram determines compensation based on factors such as
skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. Certain positions may be
eligible for an annual bonus and paid time off in addition to base
compensation.
Starting pay for the position is between $92,319 - $115,398.
