Job Description
Trek Bicycle is looking for an awesome human with experience in electrical components and/or integrated assembly to fill the role of E-Systems Product Quality Engineer (PQE).
The E-Systems PQE is responsible for the overall customer experience and quality performance of Trek’s electronic and E-bike products. They use data and customer interactions to understand issues in the field. They use their engineering and interpersonal skillsets to drive improvement efforts around those issues, and to identify and prevent future issues from product development through to manufacturing and distribution.
The best candidate will be a knowledgeable engineer with experience in electronics or complex assemblies who is also able to communicate and coordinate effectively with a wide range of cross functional teammates around the world.
Core Responsibilities:
Takes ownership and drives meaningful improvement in the overall quality of Trek electronics and E-bikesMonitors field quality performance of all Trek electronic and E-bike systems and componentsWorks closely with assembly factories to prepare for new model production and resolve fit and function issuesWorks with global Supplier Quality Engineers and component suppliers to design gauges and quality controls for new productsParticipates in design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning to mitigate risks early and promote consistency and completeness in new product designsProvides incredible hospitality to internal and external customersIdeal Candidate:
BS in Engineering or related field requiredAbility to manage multiple projects with minimal directionProven engineering or quality assurance backgroundUnderstanding of manufacturing, process variability, and statistical process controlDeep understanding of common quality tools, including RCCA/8D, failure analysis, process capability studies, and gauge R&RFunctional understanding of common design engineering tools, including DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, material properties, and DoEHands-on mechanical aptitudeCustomer service mentality and awesome communication skillsWillingness to travel internationally as neededProficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Word, Excel)Trek Benefits:
