Manufacturing Quality Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Quality Supervisor directly and indirectly lead teams of Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations individuals to meet internal and external safety and quality expectations. This role assists in the design and installation of quality control process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques.

Responsibilities:Front line liaison to production supervisor(s) and staff in executing troubleshooting, root cause analysis and implementing corrective action on quality issues affecting production.Assists in the planning of quality control engineering assignments. Coordinates tasks for technicians, inspectors and associate-level engineers assigned to projects. Schedules work in order to meet completion dates and technical specifications.Ensures quality standards are met by all outside vendors and internal departments.Responsible for coordination of quality aspects for new product development including but not limited to on-site start-ups and tool and vendor certifications.Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Establishes and documents critical features and supporting process control information.Develops and maintains inspection criteria for critical product features.Analyzes production limitations and standards, recommends revisions of specifications when indicated.Assists in the formulation of quality control policies and procedures.Evaluates progress and results, recommends changes in procedures or objectives.Develops and implements quality control training and mentoring of technicians.Operates within approved budget.Works in safe and healthy manner, strictly following all safety rules and regulationsMaintains a neat, clean and orderly 5S work area.Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills:

Five (5) or more years of experience in quality, process engineering or an equivalent field. Previous quality experience in automotive or similar assembly industry preferred.Strong process improvement background, including PFMEA, control plans, RCCA (8D), CAR/CAPA, DOE, gage R&R, PPAP, engineering drawing, GD&T, product failure analysis and Quality Management Systems (QMS).Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently without supervision.Demonstrated Black Belt knowledge; experience with Six Sigma methods/tools and experience in Lean Manufacturing is preferred.Education:B.S. of Engineering or related technical field required.Competencies:
