Your role and responsibilities

Distribution Solutions empowers smarter business operations by connecting equipment, software, and services to protect, control, and optimize assets within electrical infrastructures. Across multiple energy-intensive industries, the business provides customers with end-to-end product and service solutions that help ensure the reliability and protection of their electrical infrastructure. The role of Manufacturing/Quality Tester is an important one in ABB’s production facilities. You will perform testing and checking activities during the manufacturing process. In this role you will perform routine electrical tests and checks of the products by following procedures and instructions specified in manuals and test scripts. You could be exposed to electromagnetic fields. You will be required to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds. You will work with voltage up to 100,000 volts and current up to 60,000 amps.

Qualifications for the role

Executing the assigned work according to specified workflows and in accordance with processes and safety guidelines \tPhysical pre-testing activities for newly developed products to ensure the quality of the product or manufacturing processes.\tPerforming all factory acceptance testing checks as assigned to meet production goals while focusing on Quality. \tConducting shop floor operations in compliance with health and safety guidelines, and reporting any non-compliance\tProcess certified test reports upon successful completion of testing.\tCross training will be expected and required.\tPotential of some weekday and weekend OT\tTwo or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with electrical testing equipment performing tests like overvoltage, dielectrics, accuracy, PD, HLIC, and LIC is preferred.\tKnowledge of smart metering devices and power supplies\tAbility to read basic production documents (I.e., work instructions, drawings), understand basic math skills and read measurement tools.\tProficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and ATS preferred.\tA collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.\tKnowledge of basic electricity and circuits is preferred.\tAbility and willingness to climb ladders, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift heavy objects. \tUnderstand and carry out oral and written instructions.\tGood written and oral communication skills. \tAbility and willingness to climb ladders, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift heavy objects. \tWork as a member of a team\tDesired experience in SAP and Windchill\tAbility to work with teams and deliver feedback to operators concerning identified issues\t1 year experience in quality
