Manufacturing Repair Technician
**Job Description:** **POSITION SUMMARY:** The Manufacturing Repair Technician is responsible for identifying root cause analysis of product failure from customer returns or testing failures through the assembly/manufacturing process. This role plays a crucial role in maintaining product quality, identifying, and resolving quality issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiative. The Manufacturing Repair Technician collaborates with cross functional teams including engineering, and production employees to develop and implement quality control measures, conducts inspections, and audits, and provides guidance and training to employees on quality standards and procedures. To be successful in the Manufacturing Repair Technician role you will need strong attention to detail, root cause problem solving skills, and a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes. **RESPONSIBILITIES** • Verifies/Inspects Quality of mechanical/electronic parts/assemblies to a standard (reads/interprets blueprints). • Expert experience in assembling and disassembling wide range of products, using drawings, work instructions, and tests to performance specifications • Diagnose issues to component level • Performs inspection/analysis of production rejects/failures and customer returns providing feedback and taking the necessary corrective action. • Cross-trained and expected to perform any/all essential tasks within the production/manufacturing operations, including system, module, and sub-assembly builds. • Monitors and reporting on all production activities, processes, and procedures • Determining data-driven solutions and implementing quality improvement plans • Conducting or assisting with quality training sessions • Develop and improve instructions associated with inspections and rework. • Support Quality department metric outputs as applicable. • Documents and maintains Quality records. • Utilizes measurement equipment, order Inspection Gages, and coordinates/performs Calibration of equipment. • Charts and Posts monthly Yield to Failure Rate Charts. • Identifies and executes solutions for improvements in quality, productivity, product cost, and safety. • Communicates non-conforming Quality issues with Purchasing, Engineering, operations management. • Inputs data into Quality Data Base on Non-conforming Receiving and Failure Analysis of Components • Performs inventory management – Kanban, cycle counting, and physical inventory. • Models/follows Safety practices and policies. • Perform inspections across all stages of production. • Perform any additional specialized tasks/skills as defined by Quality Department • Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, 6S, and USa principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education:** An associate degree in Electronics Technology or Quality Engineering Certification, or equivalent experience required. **Experience/Skills:** • Minimum of 1 year of technician/repair experience with associate degree, without degree, 2-3 years of experience related to the repair, testing and assembling of products. • Ability to apply commonsense understand and follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Basic troubleshooting skills (Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive action) • Ability to inspect and manipulate small and delicate items using a variety of tools • Familiar with manufacturing materials, processes, and testing • Proficiency mining and interpreting data using tools and systems such as access, excel, Power BI, or web aps. • Use of measuring devices and perform quality test. Test equipment includes but is not limited to the following: Calipers, height gauges, thread gauges etc. • Excellent prioritization, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills • Must possess the ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Excellent product knowledge & technical aptitude • Excellent analytical/problem solving, troubleshooting and teamwork skills. • Good oral and written communication skills are required. • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting demands. • Ability to perform and manage workloads autonomously.
