Manufacturing Slotting Analyst

The slotting analyst role is responsible for the strategic organization, layout configuration & tagging, data modeling, and placement of devices to discrete logical locations within the DCC, principally in the forward fulfillment and bulk storage work zones in support of DCC clients. The slotting analyst will gather data from many sources, understand which items are high velocity and quickly prioritize their placement, and search for patterns or trends that others may not see. Then use the information and trends to create strategies for the clients. As strategies are implemented, the analysts will study the effects of the strategies and determine how they can be improved or modified. The slotting analyst is expected to deliver measurable results for optimizing labor efficiency, consistent achievement of fill rates (SLA), reduction in client back orders, inventory & picking accuracy, and enhancing worker productivity and safety. The slotting analyst is also the catalyst for productivity attainment in the picking, replenishment, and put-away functional pathway flows, and makes efficient use of assigned DCC warehouse space.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Dynamic Slotting - Through continuous analysis of prior order fulfillment demand history by SKU, current on-hand inventory, and expected new inventory arrivals; determine the ideal combination of forward fulfillment pick faces and units to be stored for each item to ensure fill rate success Discover slotting improvement opportunities including ABC analysis, cubic movements, storage types, consolidation, and SKU affinities Regular Review - Continuously assesses and adjusts slotting strategies daily or weekly in the racking system based upon changing demand patterns, device life cycle, or capacities.  Build models to support ‘what-if’ scenarios Present recommendations to leadership Timeliness & Accuracy - Ensures that the warehouse associates follow the assigned slotting guidance and complete material transfers timely and accurately Picking Efficiency - Ensures that frequently picked items are easily accessible, reducing the time spent allocating them to order authorizations Inventory - Ensures that proper inventory storage processes are followed, and the forward fulfillment work zone (L28FF) is well-organized with slots that prevent overstocking or understocking of units Worker Safety - Proper slotting minimizes the need for excessive movement and reduces the risk of accidents

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

2+ years’ experience in warehouse slotting 3+ years’ experience in data analytics or warehouse/supply chain operations 2+ years’ experience with statistical modeling Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel – Pivots, VLookups, Sum/Ifs) Strong analytical skills Oracle experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills General working knowledge of data visualization programs such as Tableau or Power BI

 

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, or Statistics, or equivalent experience Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping/receiving environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production standards Good interpersonal skills (verbal/written) with ability to effectively communicate with both colleagues and leadership Ability to work both independently and within a team environment High attention to detail
Pay Range

$23.13 - $38.18

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
