Purpose:
The purpose of the Production Supervisor role is to provide leadership and guidance to a production workforce of approximately 50+/- employees (per shift). The Production Supervisor has the responsibility for the day to day management for all aspects of the production floor, with Safety a top priority. This role ensures that work is produced in accordance with established production goals/targets and that product quality is in compliance with customer standards.
The production supervisor manages specific operational factors (labor, waste, CI initiatives, maintenance, etc…) which are key to meeting GPI’s business, cultural, and financial objectives.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervises and facilitates the day-to-day shift activities of Production teams (Die Cutting, Finishing) Responsible for and Assists teams with production performance towards set goals. Finds resolution to production issues (schedule, equipment maintenance, raw materials, packaging, quality, etc…) Utilizes knowledge and experience to provide training to teams and individuals. Responsible for personnel issues; including required discipline. Strives to be technically proficient on the machinery in each department.
Works with employees to maintain a work environment focused on Safety. Encourages and leads team members to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices. Assists in the development and implementation of safety procedures. Supports Safety Manager in achieving departmental and plant safety (health / environmental) goals. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting safety requirements.
Works with employees to maintain established QUALITY standards. Ensures that product quality meets or exceeds established standards. Validates that Quality Audits are being completed by all work areas (all equipment locations). Supports Quality Manager in achieving departmental, plant and customer quality goals. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety policies and procedures; including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures
Supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork). Continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of all work areas. Involvement in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes. Strives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Serves as a direct line of communication for hourly employees up to senior leadership and vice a versa. Creates a safe space for employees to voice concerns. Enables employees to conduct proactive problem solving at the lowest level possible. Provides appropriate performance feedback, including coaching and progressive discipline.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years of manufacturing experience – required Printing / packaging converting experience – preferred Paper Mill experience – preferred Prior supervisory experience – preferred A four-year or two year college degree – preferred
SKILLS:
Leadership ability and ongoing desire to develop a leadership career. Technical and problem solving skills. Interpersonal skills, ability to motivate people. Exceptional communication skills, good organizational skills. Skilled in Microsoft office applications.

Pay Range: $76,860.00 - $102,480.00
