Job Description
As a Programming Supervisor, you will be responsible for improving workplace safety, enforcing compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, and overseeing time and attendance for the department. You will identify continuous improvement opportunities in machining processes, provide technical development and mentoring for machinists and setup technicians, and assist in training operators on multiple machine platforms. You will also work with Design Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues, implement an effective machine data collection system, and support the Manufacturing team to monitor and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
ResponsibilitiesContinually strive to improve workplace safety and enforce compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards and policies.Review time and attendance for the department and submit to payroll in a timely manner.Identify continuous improvement opportunities in machining processes and assist management with implementing those changes from idea to realization.Provide technical development and mentoring for machinists and setup technicians to improve skills and capabilities within the department.Assist in training setup operators and machine operators on multiple machine platforms.Work with Design Engineering as required to resolve manufacturing issues and improve the manufacturability of product design.Assist in implementing and managing an effective machine data collection system.Create and maintain machine shop documentation and provide work instructions to ensure process control.Support the Manufacturing team to monitor and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).Essential SkillsSufficient experience and training in metal machine shop practices.Expertise in operation, setup, and programming of both manual and CNC metal machining equipment.Extensive knowledge in reading, interpreting, and revising engineering drawings.CNC Programming capability for multiple platforms (Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills, Sub-Spindle Lathes, etc.).2+ years of supervisory experience with a proven ability to effectively lead individuals and teams.2+ years of experience running, setting up, and programming multiple CNC machine platform types (Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills, Sub-Spindle Lathes).Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to present and implement positive changes and reduce bottlenecking.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertifications and/or experience in operating and programming CNC Machines.5+ years in the CNC manufacturing space within machine setup, programming, and operating.2+ years of professional supervisory experience.Work Environment
This position is based on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
