Job Objective:

The Manufacturing Engineer is an established performer that is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and project management capabilities to improve production methods, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance within a manufacturing environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

· Develop, assess, and implement techniques and equipment of simple to moderate complexity used in production process to maximize the efficiency of the operations.

· Plan and design systems as assigned that increase productivity by improving the integration of people, materials, systems, equipment, and finance.

· Research, recommend, or may implements changes to work methods, materials, machinery, manpower allocation, and safety measures for project of simple to moderate complexity.

· Develop work standards, schedules, procedures, and performance standards for work applications to improve efficiency and cost reductions using standard company approved standards. Review standards with more senior engineering staff member before implementation.

· Work on cross-functional teams to execute projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product launches.

· Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.

· Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance quality.

· Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.

· Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.

· Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical knowledge to address business challenges.

· Perform other duties as needed.

 

Required Experience and Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

· 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Six-Sigma and/or Lean certifications are desirable.

 

Competencies:

· Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.

· Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

· High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.

· Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

 

Other Pertinent Job Information: 

· Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.

· Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.

· Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.

· Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.

· The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.

· May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

· The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.

· The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
