Manufacturing Tape Converting Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the daily operation of the tape converting department and safe operation of all department related equipment, and for meeting daily production schedules. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Support all aspects of in-house tape converting operations. Provide technical competence in press set-up and operation. Manage spare parts and both preventative and unscheduled maintenance activities. Effectively balance build scheduling with demand and RM material availability. Assure build accuracy against product specification. Meet overall equipment efficiencies for production deadlines. Maintain dies and plates in useable ready condition and manage procurement of replacements as required. Actively seek ways to reduce cost and increase efficiencies. Document daily production activities via batch records for production traceability. Assist in product packaging as required. Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills as they relate to press operation. Strong Communication skills; Must understand, read, and write English. Experience using a computer in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Multi web PSA construction experience preferred. Experience in set up and use of Mark Andy 2200 Rotary Converting Press preferred.  Knowledge of and experience with GMP requirements and ISO-9000 requirements preferred. Experience with narrow web converting preferred. Flexographic print experience using water-based inks preferred. Experience operating slitting / Rewind / Inspection Equipment preferred. Strong understanding of press tension controls and web pacing preferred. 

Education

High School Diploma or GED is required. 

Compensation: 

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $20 - $23 per hour plus benefits.  Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.  

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in a production environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.  May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.  Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
