Position Description:We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 to support mechanical assembly and bonding operations in the structure’s assembly and layup area at our Beltsville, MD facility. The selected candidate will provide technical manufacturing support for integrated products, including honeycomb panel fabrication and aerospace mechanical assembly. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and hands-on experience with adhesives and composite materials.
Key Responsibilities:Perform mechanical assembly, bonding, and fabrication of spaceflight hardware using multiple adhesives.
Work with engineers in set-up, calibration, and rework tasks.
Conduct quality testing and inspection of parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
Operate hand tools and power machinery for processing metals, composites, and wood.
Read and follow manufacturing instructions and technical procedures.
Assist in the development of manufacturing methods and process control improvements.
Collaborate with lead technicians and supervisors to meet build schedules and budgets.
Maintain compliance with safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
Lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible schedules as needed to meet delivery deadlines.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):High school diploma or equivalent (education will be verified).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in honeycomb panel fabrication or aerospace mechanical assembly.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret drawings.
Experience working with hand tools and performing precise adhesive bonding.
Familiarity with math and geometry skills for precise assembly work.
Demonstrates a high level of concern for safety and quality workmanship.
Local candidates must be available for on-site interviews if requested.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Experience preparing/mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives for mechanical and thermal component installation.
Prior experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with honeycomb panel fabrication.
Familiarity with handling hazardous materials per OSHA and industry standards.

Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship.
Effective time management skills, including planning and following instructions.
Punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts.
