Manufacturing Technician - First Shift

Position Summary:

Join the most innovative, imaginative and fun-loving team in life science. Bio-Techne’s Protein Platform Division is looking for a Manufacturing Technician with a motivation to participate in the growth of a fast-paced company engaged in cutting edge biological research. The successful applicant will work with other members of the consumables production team to support and sustain manufacturing activities for capillary coating and cartridge fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate semi-automated custom equipment and software

Perform cartridge assembly, microfluidic device, and capillary coating processes

Perform in-process QC inspection and documentation

Work with process engineers and a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to implement improvements and troubleshoot issues

Must be detail-oriented, able to learn quickly, respond to feedback, and communicate clearly.

Able to read and follow SOPs and regulations

Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English).

Safety-minded, disciplined workmanship.

Familiar with basic computer software; Microsoft Office

Prior experience using ERP system to track inventory and work in progress

Able to learn new skills, concepts and tasks as required

Follow priorities by supervisor

Understand and follow appropriate standard operating procedures for Regulatory awareness of chemical handling and hazards

Document results, process and refer to past batch records

Work may change from day-to-day within reasonable and expected boundaries

Responsible to calibrate some equipment as applicable

Complete all compliance trainings as assigned

Meets quality and productivity expectations

Identify process improvements and flag areas for improvement

Participate in continuous process improvement efforts

Works independently with minimal supervision on routine tasks

Ability to support and help others in the team

Knowledge of work performed by the department and learning how to perform multiple functions within the department

Flexibility to work on multiple tasks with increased effectiveness

Being flexible by completing other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Experience with manufacturing, medical device manufacturing is a plus.

Working with microscope daily and understanding the use of space under a microscope.

Education:

High School Diploma, and 2+ years experience in a relevant manufacturing environment
