Compensation Range: $46,400 - $69,500 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

ABSL Space Products (ABSL) is the world-leading manufacturer of Lithium-ion batteries for space applications.  We are seeking talented individuals who have the self-motivation and desire to become world-leaders in their field to join our office in Longmont, Colorado.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Perform assembly of Li Ion batteries using detailed processes like soldering, resistive welding, insulative coating, epoxy application, crimping and wire harness assembly.
•    Use small hand tools and microscopes to complete detailed assembly work following thorough work instructions
•    Assist and train other technicians on equipment usage, documentation and battery assembly.
•    Read, comprehend, and work effectively with mechanical drawings and documentation including bills of materials, assembly drawings, work instructions, and equipment travelers.
•    Support work in a production environment that is low volume, high mix with high level of quality oversight
•    Understand traceability requirements, work within an AS9100 quality system, and support MRB processes
•    Independently take initiative to perform duties diligently and efficiently with limited oversight
•    Maintain cleanliness and organization of work space.

Qualifications

•    Capacity to become certified and maintain certification in NASA standards (8739.1, 8739.4) for cable and polymeric applications 
•    Capacity to become certified and maintain certification in IPC standards (JSTD-001 with space addendum) for solder, preference if certification has been completed previously.
•    Experience preferred working in clean room environments, using ESD protections, and stored energy safe practices. 
•    Ability to follow and execute standard operating procedures in an aerospace environment
•    Executes work with a high attention to detail 
•    Works well with fellow team members, under minimal supervision, and can take work direction from lead or senior technicians as required.
•    Aerospace or high tech industry experience preferred
•    Knowledge of or experience with lithium-ion or other batteries advantageous
•    Educational requirement: minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) 
•     “Off” hours or weekend support may be required at times 

General Job Requirements Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch. Must be able to differentiate colors. This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety. Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times. Must be able and willing to work overtime. Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
