Our Minnetonka location is seeking a high-caliber, motivated, self-driven individual to join our manufacturing engineering team for ablation catheter manufacturing in Abbott’s Electrophysiology business unit.

Main Purpose of Role
Individuals in this role will support the operations team as a 2nd shift Manufacturing technician working with assemblers to implement manufacturing best practices, investigate process issues, dissect scrap devices to understand the defects, and determine root causes, and troubleshoot equipment. Additionally, this position will support projects aimed towards designing and developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality. This individual will have a unique opportunity to make a mark on the organization while working on state-of-the-art products. This individual will be able to make a significant P&L impact on the organization.
What You’ll Work On
2nd shift front-line supporting the Operations teamLearn manufacturing processes, techniques, and best practices and support the Operations team in coaching and training assemblersPerform scrap dissection and support investigations into potential root causesSupport projects which include new production equipment, process improvements, cost reductions, and new product introductionsInstruct production personnel in the manufacturing and testing of product devicesRecommend and implement processes, tooling, and equipment changes for improving safety, quality, delivery, and costInterpret test data, analyze product performance, develop summaries, and assist in the initiation of yield improvementsAssist maintenance team in ensuring continuous operation of production equipmentAssist engineers in troubleshooting safety, quality, or process issuesSummarize information to communicate across shifts and with other functional areasIndividual should:

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GEDAbility to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environmentAbility to work with assemblers and other non-technical personnelAbility to teach and coach othersStrong verbal and written communications with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teamsResults-orientedAdept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner to meet assigned deadlinesStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under limited supervisionAbility to maintain regular and predictable attendancePreferred Qualifications
0-3 years of manufacturing technician experience preferred, but not requiredMedical device experience preferred but not requiredTrade school certification, specialized training/apprenticeship and/or equivalent in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or other equivalent* Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan. The base pay for this position is $20.55 – $41.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
