Manufacturing Test Technician
Location – Glasgow
Hours - 4 day week Monday-Thursday / 37 hours per week
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our manufacturing team specialising in Optronics and high precision Engineering a Manufacturing Test Technician. In this role you will work closely with existing team members, Work Cell Managers and Manufacturing Engineers in delivering the outputs from the relevant work cell as per the business requirements. Our Manufacturing Test Technicians carry out in depth testing and fault diagnoses of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
The roles are based out of our Glasgow manufacturing site. You will work a 4 day week Monday to Thursday and work 9.25 hours per day. Start times can range from 06:00-07:30am. Shift work will be required as per business and customer requirements which will be paid at a premium.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
To perform complex Manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation provided to the quality standards expected in a timely and professional manner.
To adhere to the defined Company processes when carrying out all tasks
Performs self-assessment and approval of products
To input and support any continuous improvement actions being worked on within Industry
To be able to detect any fault or non-compliance and if necessary raise the alert. In addition when able should contribute to diagnostics and the finding of the cause/root analysis
To manage and record build configuration of product
To use the company tools (IBS, Palma etc) when carrying out product assembly tasks
Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for skilled manufacturing individuals with experience with electronics and electronic test, ideally with a qualification. You will need to be able to work unsupervised and be a motivated self-starter.
Ability to assemble and test products to a high standard.
Test, diagnose and repair various electronic systems and sub-assemblies to component level.
To have an awareness / understanding of Manufacturing processes.
Focussed on meeting deadlines with good time management and prioritisation skills.
The ability to work on own initiative when required.
The ability to work and contribute as a team player.
A basic level of PC skills
Experience in working within an Industrial / Engineering environment is essential.
An electrical/electronic qualification would be advantageous

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
