About the role:
What you need to know:
+ This position will fulfill the role of Marine Adjuster in order to proactively assess and manage medium complexity Marine claims within authority limits from the first notification of loss to a timely, accurate and customer-focused resolution, performing the corresponding coverage and quantum analysis throughout the claims’ lifecycles.
+ Demonstrate financial control with timely and accurate reserving methodology, and effective claims management.
+ Strict adherence to AIG Claims Handling Policy and Guidelines and best practice procedures, as well as applicable service level agreements and local regulations.
+ Maintain close collaboration / communication with Brokers and Underwriting teams.
+ Proactively identify and review suspicious / fraudulent claims on a consistent basis, in line with company's internal requirements.
+ Foster excellent professional relationships with internal/external customers to excel in customer service.
+ Deliver superior claims services and capabilities, ensure meaningful reporting on claims intelligence and analytics and sharing relevant insights. Will work closely with Regional and Local claims teams to drive greater alignment across the portfolio.
+ Ensure Claims Department reported timely and in accordance with the business date‐lines. Effective prioritization and execution of tasks.
+ Managing key claims handling inquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment where appropriate within authority limits and providing a consistently strong standard of customer service including preparing timely coverage assessments and reservation /denial letters.
+ Effectively following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous claim handling improvement.
+ Any additional related task.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree.
+ This position is suitable for candidates with experience in claims handling. Experience in marine claims preferred.
+ Adjusters License Preferred.
+ Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
+ Knowledge of insurance regulatory and/or procedural requirements in Puerto Rico.
+ Proficient in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
+ Analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a strong attention to detail
+ Bilingual (English and Spanish). Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other units within/outside the department and companywide.
+ Exceedingly customer service oriented.
