Actalent is currently seeking a Marine Engineer to support a critical program for NOAA. The role will be providing expertise on the concept and design development of ships for ocean exploration and research. The role will be hybrid with 2-3 days in office.

In this role, day to day may include...

Providing technical evaluation of vendor proposed system designs.Providing assessments and determinations of expected performance to meet requirements.Periodically write technical papers on risk of systems.Drawing review and modification; shipboard material inspections and development of ship alteration packages.10-20 Percent Travel; potentially international.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

In this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.10 Years Experience in Shipbuilding.Ability to perform system design analysis and verification.Experience supporting ship concept/design development and performing feasible studies.Ability to review/modify drawings and have good technical writing skills

The preferred candidate will possess:

Experience as a Chief Engineer.Understanding of ABS/NOAA/USCG regulatory agencies rules

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00
