You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic subject matter expert. You will inspect, repair, and test a variety of diesel and gasoline engines, components, and accessories. You will analyze and provide recommended resolutions on diesel engines. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1. Examining and troubleshooting marine machinery and equipment to determine extent of repairs required, materials/parts needed, and time required to complete repairs. 2. Applying standard formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices to inspect equipment, and using devices such as alignment scopes, strobe tachometers, etc. 3. Using anchor marine machinery and equipment to make precision alignments and adjustments for balance, and conduct operational tests.
