Marine Structural Engineer
Job Title: Marine Structural EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Marine Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for structural modeling for platforms and marine steel structures, calculating loads (e.g., wind, seismic, dead & live), and adhering to structural building codes. You will prepare and analyze models, create designs based on load requirements, and report directly to the VP of Marine Engineering. Field visits will typically occur 1-2 times per month, and project durations can range from a few months to several years. Responsibilities + Perform structural modeling for platforms and marine steel structures + Calculate loads, including wind, seismic, dead, and live loads + Adhere to structural building codes + Prepare, run, and analyze structural models + Create designs of structural members based on load analysis + Report directly to the VP of Marine Engineering + Conduct field visits 1-2 times per month Essential Skills + 4-10 years of experience in marine structural engineering + Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering + Experience with structural CAD software (e.g., EnerCalc, StaadPro, SAP2000) + Proficiency in AutoCAD + Knowledge of structural analysis and design + Experience in structural steel and industrial design + Ability to perform structural calculations + Drafting and design skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of structural software such as Staad Pro, SAP2000, Optimoor, and ENERCALC + P.E. or E.I.T certification preferred + Strong desire to obtain E.I.T certification if not already certified Work Environment Office hours are 7:30-4:30 with flexibility. Options to work through lunch and leave early, or arrive early and leave early, are available. Hybrid flexibility may be considered after gaining a good grasp of the processes.
