Marine Structural Engineer
Job Title: Marine Structural Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Marine Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for structural modeling for platforms and marine steel structures, calculating loads (e.g., wind, seismic, dead & live), and adhering to structural building codes. You will prepare and analyze models, create designs based on load requirements, and report directly to the VP of Marine Engineering. Field visits will typically occur 1-2 times per month, and project durations can range from a few months to several years.

ResponsibilitiesPerform structural modeling for platforms and marine steel structuresCalculate loads, including wind, seismic, dead, and live loadsAdhere to structural building codesPrepare, run, and analyze structural modelsCreate designs of structural members based on load analysisReport directly to the VP of Marine EngineeringConduct field visits 1-2 times per monthEssential Skills4-10 years of experience in marine structural engineeringBachelor of Science in Structural EngineeringExperience with structural CAD software (e.g., EnerCalc, StaadPro, SAP2000)Proficiency in AutoCADKnowledge of structural analysis and designExperience in structural steel and industrial designAbility to perform structural calculationsDrafting and design skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of structural software such as Staad Pro, SAP2000, Optimoor, and ENERCALCP.E. or E.I.T certification preferredStrong desire to obtain E.I.T certification if not already certifiedWork Environment

Office hours are 7:30-4:30 with flexibility. Options to work through lunch and leave early, or arrive early and leave early, are available. Hybrid flexibility may be considered after gaining a good grasp of the processes. The work environment offers a family feel with events such as picnics and outings. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
