Marine Surveyor: Bureau Veritas Marine, Inc. (Plantation, FL) seeks Marine Surveyor to perform independent technical studies and surveys of large passenger and commercial ships, as well as other floating units in commercial service, to make conformity assessments, in reference to applicable rules, international and national standards and regulations. Survey ships against standards (e.g. Fleet Management Classification and Statutory Certification) and issue reports in compliance with inland specific procedures. Assess the conditions on-board for carrying out surveys to the expected quality level. Confer with Ships in Service Operational Manager on complex certification issues. Issue marine certifications (e.g. Class and Statutory Certificates). Verify control systems engineering concerning the automation, alarm and safety systems, centralized navigation equipment, integrated bridge systems, and dynamic position systems. Assess stability of ships by deterministic and probabilistic formulas to determine the level of intervention required to ensure safety at sea. Conduct reviews of ship structures. Perform technical audits to assess quality of ships and other floating units. Make engineering conclusions and reports concerning the reliability of sensitive ships and offshore units as well as analyses of marine facility operators in terms of compliance with engineering norms. Make technical calculations related to shaft line alignments, such as static and elastic studies and vibration measurements, for large-sized container ships, bulk carriers, and Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) tankers. Provide detailed propulsion system reliability analysis, including diesel engines, boilers, turbines, electric motors, propellers, and steering gears, as well as fuel, lubricating oil, and hydraulic, air, water, and oil piping. Assess and provide evaluation of marine and offshore floating unit materials and equipment in reference to classification rules. May telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. Requires frequent travel to various locations around the United States to interact with clients and review ships in-person.

Requirements: Five (5) years of relevant experience in the marine industry, specifically in classification and certification surveys of commercial ships and offshore floating units.
