The Opportunity:
Marine Systems Engineer role is an excellent role for engineers who have a background with shipboard systems and seek to improve their experience with marine system integration and analysis. Marine Systems Engineer is part of a team of engineers across all disciplines who assist in development, design and presenting system findings and solutions for US Navy and USCG ships as well as submitting contract deliverables on time as required. Opportunity to support CACI's Washington, DC office, e.g. Client Site Offices at the Washington Navy Yard or NSWC-Carderock and future potential flexible, hybrid positions, and work with customers, such as, MSC, NSWC, and NAVSEA.
Responsibilities:
Conduct system and individual machinery component analysis to estimate optimal performance and service life
Utilize AutoCAD to create contract guidance drawings for inclusion in T-ALT (ship alterations) packages, integrating them into ship systems.
Understand customer requirements for mechanical, electrical, and arrangement outfitting drawing development.
Perform review and quality assurance on preliminary design drawings.
Collaborate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and engineers from other disciplines to complete specific project tasking
Attend ship checks to collect information necessary to complete design or engineering study at hand including but not limited to measurements, spatial profiling, fluid analysis, machinery testing recording current operating parameters(pressures, temperatures, etc), interview with crew members.
Stay updated with marine rules and standards for the design and analysis of marine systems, such as ABS SVR, MSC Design Standards, and IMO regulations.
Document methods, assumptions, and results in technical reports.
Perform Shipyard and/or design Contract Deliverable reviews for Contract Specification SOWs, Regulatory, and technical compliance.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Marine Engineering Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related fi eld.
Have previous sailing experience as U.S Coastguard Licensed Engineer
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Detail-oriented.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to speak and write clearly in English.
Technical writing proficiency
Ability to present findings and communicate effectively in both remote and in-person settings.
Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
U.S. Citizenship.
Security clearance eligibility
Desired:
Experience sailing on SBX-1 in a USCG Licensed Engineer Billet
Knowledge of marine rules, standards, and codes.
Proficiency with 3-D CAD, such as Solid works, AutoCAD, Pipeflo
Proficient with SAMM suite of Applications

The proposed salary range for this position is:
