Job Specification

The purpose of the Marine Vessel Assurance Specialist is toserve as primary focal person for Company’s Vessel Management Team (VMT) on allmarine vessel related matters. Interfaces with Contractor’s office-based andsite-based Marine Teams.

Serve as Company Site Rep on board Diving Support Vesselsand suppoting vessels for subsea construction activities.

To support on-vessel marine safety, quality, and incidentresponse.

Provide marine technical support to COMPANY Vessel Teams.

Inspect, audit, working with Marine Warranty Surveyor toensure the proposed marine vessels meeting COMPANY’s requirement.

Ensure all marine vessels inspection inspection findings andpunchlist list are closed out prior to chartering.

Ensure marine crews meeting the COMPANY and internationalmaritime standards.

Prepare, submit and obtain approval for MarineUnit Acceptance (MUA)

Key Job Accountabilities

Works independently within established marine procedures,plans and budgets and contributes to the development of these delievrables.

Monitors Contractor’s marine vessel performance and ensurespecifications / approved procedures are followed.

Works on large capital expenditure projects in a highlydynamic team environment that has tight-deadlines, high pressure, andvisibility, requiring accuracy, initiative, and the ability to multi-task asessential skills.

Interacts effectively with project management and externalstakeholders, including statutory auditors, shareholder auditors, regulatorybodies and other entities as required to discuss project marine vessel relatedpractices and issues

Assists Project Management with planning, procedure reviewand technical support of marine vessel execution matters. Ensures that anymarine vessel issues evaluated during HAZID/HIRA processes, or that are raisedduring safety meetings, are closed prior to the start of work. Takesinitiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost-effectiveservice.

Participates in the development of all SIMOPS documents, toensure that all parties have a clear understanding of marine activities andtheir impact on adjacent work activities. Interfaces with various project teamsand departments on resolving related issues that requires effectivecommunication, initiative, flexibility, and an ability to induce collaboration.

Works effectively within established procedures or createsand endorses new marine procedures as necessary to further develop the ProjectManagement philosophy.

Establishes credibility with peers, subordinates, andsupervisors. Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, self-confidence,fairness. Sets situations/issues in the context of the entire team and has anappreciation of the wider relationships with other people and organizations.

Acts as Company Site Representative or Marine VesselAssurance Specialist as directed by COMPANy’s Management onboard Diving SupportVessels and transportation vessels to supervise operation during fieldexecution. Performs marine inspection prior to mobilization.

Attends vessel safety meetings and toolbox talks to ensurethere is a clear understanding of the marine activities that are to beperformed. Relays all relevant Safety Alerts with the Contractor and the VesselManagement Team.


 

Minimum Requirements

 

Master Mariner’s license in compliance with STCW II/2

years minimum experience as Master Mariner

3 years minimum offshore marine supervisory experience onDiving vessel

Demonstrate extensive experience on marine vessels includedbut not limited to Diving Support Vessel, DP2 transportation vessel.

Demonstrate basic training or knowledge in

Marine Inspection

Lifting and Rigging

IMCA Requirements for DP2 vessel operations

STCW Requirements
