PDS Tech Commercial Inc, in partnership with a leading maritime organization, is looking to add Shipyard Mechanics to our team in Norfolk. As an Industrial/Marine Mechanic, you’ll be the driving force behind our operations, tackling repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance to keep us moving forward. Pay = $26-28/hour

Shift = 1st shift (currently working approx 20 hours of OT each week)

What You’ll Do:

Keep It Running: Adjust, maintain, and repair industrial machinery using your keen skills and control devices.

Master of Rebuilds: Repair or replace transmissions, crawler heads, and subassemblies using your trusty hand tools, jacks, and cranes.

Heavy Lifting: Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment with precision, using hoists and every tool at your disposal.

Gear Up: Assemble gear systems, align frames and gears, and ensure everything fits perfectly.

Routine TLC: Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to keep it in top-notch condition.

Diagnose Like a Pro: Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify faults and determine the best repairs.

Precision Inspection: Examine parts for wear, fabricate from sheet metal when needed, and keep everything within tight tolerances.

Get Hands-On: Operate and inspect heavy machinery to find and fix defects.

Electrical Fixes: Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems to keep the sparks flying in the right direction.

Keep Us Stocked: Manage parts inventory, schedule maintenance, and ensure everything is documented.

Quality First: Follow technical documentation, inspect work, and report any deviations with solutions in mind.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience & Education: High School Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience in mechanics preferred. At least 2 years in industrial or marine settings.

Mechanical Whiz: You know your way around blueprints, technical manuals, and precise measuring equipment.

Hands-On Skills: Familiar with machinery alignment, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and mobile equipment repair.

Problem Solver: Strong skills in diagnosing, repairing, and fabricating parts on the fly.

Certifications: Must be eligible for TWIC card and DBIDS credentials—no exceptions!

Extra Points: Welding, soldering, and experience with USN Standard Items are big pluses!

Pay Details: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour
