POSITION SUMMARY The Market Assistant Vice President, Information Technology (Market AVP, IT) oversees and manages effective operation of Information Technology for the assigned hospitals and ensures strategic and operational alignment with Ardent enterprise IT&S goals and objectives. This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and works effectively with leadership and facility executive management. The Market AVP, IT will be an integral link between Corporate IT&S and the end user to enhance and monitor the use and effectiveness of its products and services. Responsibilities Assists in development, maintenance, and oversight of annual operating and capital budgets for IT Operations, appropriate organizational structure and staffing capable of supporting the business needs of the assigned facilities. Manages local IT environment according to negotiated and established service level agreements and in accordance with enterprise standards and guidelines. Manages vendors including mediation of contractual disputes, and amendments to core agreements Assists in defining and managing success criteria for assigned hospitals. Leads scheduling and implementation of Ardent IT initiatives. Tracks all IT project initiatives executed within assigned hospitals. Ensures enterprise IT systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards, and legal requirements. Enforces policy and procedures to ensure the protection of enterprise IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information. Oversees development and maintenance of disaster recovery plan for assigned hospitals. Leads the adoption of Lean/Six Sigma principles in the assigned hospitals. Oversees the implementation and use of a measurement and reporting system that monitors appropriate metrics that leads to product/service delivery, quality improvements, and MOR review. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required 5+ years of experience with direct leadership responsibility 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in a managerial capacity Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives Knowledge of fiscal management techniques Knowledge of health care administration systems Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements Knowledge of computer systems and applications Skill in planning, organizing and supervising Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making Ability to build positive relationships with facility leadership and other leaders as dictated by the business organizational structure and represents IT&S on appropriate business committees Ability to communicate successes, challenges, opportunities, trends, and lessons regarding the assigned hospitals to Corporate CIO Ability to Identify and coordinate resolution of IT issues through problem management Ability to communicates successes, challenges, opportunities and trends Ability to develop and lead IT governance processes & practices Ability to develop and implement initiatives improving cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development opportunities
