Market Development Specialist
Full time permanent position
Field based role covering Victoria

As a Market Development Specialist in the Bayer Vegetable Seeds team, you will be at the forefront of scouting products and executing field trial plans to select new commercial products for significant vegetable crops, including Brassica (Cauliflower, Broccoli, and Cabbage), Root & Bulb (Carrots & Onions), and Leafy (Spinach). The data you collect during trials will shape strategic plans that enhance our Regional Business Managers and Reseller effectiveness, grow customer engagement, and ultimately increase market share and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute field trials based on set objectives (product sections, Features and Benefits, recommendations)
Lead and deliver field-based applied research to inform the strategic development of products that meet the needs of growers and supply chain customers.
Collate and provide feedback on market potential, competition, key trends, and emerging market forces.
Utilize agronomic trials to add value beyond germplasm, fostering and growing customer relationships within your territory
Organize and deliver demonstration field days and educational talks to internal staff, Resellers and external agronomists and independent consultants
Create and use data tools to develop performance stories and support the sales process
Add value by Leveraging global connections to scout and trial the latest genetic solutions.
Manage germplasm performance claims and provide technical leadership on case outcomes.
The successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Previous experience working in technical research with Vegetable Seed or vegetable crops
Ability to undertake applied field research, which can involve long days outside
Degree in Agronomy, Crop Sciences, Horticulture, Plant Pathology or related field
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook
Confidence to present research and talk to medium groups at field days
Be self-motivated and results-oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook
Willingness to travel across Victoria to different field sites
Hold a full open driver’s licence
