Ford
Experience in vehicle & powertrain technology with basic knowledge of business processes.
Good knowledge of a Quality Operating System and processes with the ability to coach and audit procedures and quality tools, including Prevent Recurrence.
Preference to have skills in Ford IT systems; AWS, BSAQ, PEARS, Servis2, GCQIS, ECB/EVB, QLS, G8D, 6-Sigma, PTS, GPDS, FDRS, IDS etc.
Six Sigma driven mindset and methodical approach with proven track record in problem solving, investigation techniques and statistical methods.
FTEP Training/Certification in G8D, Consumer Focus.
Good functional & Technical Skills.

B-Tech or Bachelors in Quality Management, Engineering, Commerce or related fields.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Vehicle / Powertrain Operations, Quality & / or Warranty.
Desired a Six Sigma Green / Black Belt certification or associated problem-solving experience.
Be a point of quality contact for accountable market with responsible plants within portfolio providing customer insights and ensuring the delivery of quality products meeting engineering / legal specifications and customer acceptance standards.
Monitor product quality analyzing and managing internal and external data, guiding teams in achieving robust interim containment and permanent corrective actions for quality concerns (Warranty, GQRS, QNPS, Market Specific Competitor Surveys (JD Power, NCBS etc.), for all South African Built & Sold Vehicle Lines.
Liaise with source plants globally to ensure South Africa market concerns related to Imported Vehicles, are known to source plants, provide feedback on emerging concerns, and drive issue resolution.
Conduct Audits at Port - Protection Standards / Vehicle Parking Condition In Port / Port Inspection / Loading & Unloading of Vehicles From Container.
To develop / Update the Export Vehicle Protection Standards time to time based on Market Specific Feedback and to ensure the same is adhered.
Coordinate with other regions and functions to proactively understand top issues and resolve Through Global Forums (Warranty Meeting / Red Table Meetings).
Preparation and Presentation of Export / Import Review Deck during Leadership & Franchise reviews.
Monitor Effective Export QPIP Requirements ensuring market requirements are met.
Work with FCSD teams in formulating and presenting Risk & Opportunities, which would affect the respective regions Build / Sold Vehicle Line’s Quality Business strategy.
Support market on In Transit Stop Ship (ITSS) concerns including restricting vehicle movements, working with 3rd party providers to inspect/rework vehicles, working with Ford-cross functional teams (Vehicle Logistics, FCSD, MS&S) to ensure all key stakeholders are engaged, and liaising back with the source Plants.
Understanding the factors that influence customer satisfaction from both a product and customer perspective by engaging forward model program teams to incorporate features, content and improvement actions to meet / exceed customer expectations through benchmarking and reading of current / future trends.
Participate in the EM EPLM programs forum and provide market specific quality requirements early into the programs.
Monitor Regional Quality Business Plan metrics and objectives.
Represent the regions Quality in Voice of the Customer surveys, steering committees & global functional meetings such as QOS daily reviews, SAR’s, VQR’s, GVQR’s, PQR’s, PCT’s, etc.
Develop Customer Wants Lists and maintain Critical to Quality product checklists for the region using Warranty, GQRS and regional regulations.
Monitor product warranty items impacting the quality of vehicle lines for the region and assist the Warranty Spend Reduction team by applying engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve processes and products to reduce warranty within region.
Generate product quality reports for teams to manage internal and external data to support Import, Export & Warranty objectives.
Support VOR / Rapid Hub/JV initiatives daily by opening ageing concerns along with Cross-Functional Teams and support dealer technicians to diagnose and resolve high ageing technical concerns which cannot be addressed through GTAC (Global Technical Assistance Centre).
Attend high ageing concerns through travel to dealer sites on short notice across South Africa.
Assist with travel to supply critical part’s if required to Dealers.
Provide technical support and feedback to Quality, Field Service Engineer, GTAC Engineer, Zone Manager & CRC agent depending on requirement.
Summarize the cause of daily problems & submit a dealer visit report within agreed timeline to use that information to prepare Single Point Lesson’s and Leadership daily VOR feedback.
Attend relevant Ford VOR and JV meetings for information sharing and emerging concern updates.
