We are in search of a hard-working Market Research Analyst, Critical Minerals to join our exceptional team in Toronto, ON, Canada. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the strategic decisions of our commercial team and corporate requirements, furthering the success and sustainability of Teck Resources.

Responsibilities

 

Be a courageous safety leader; adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

Refine and improve research models to provide greater detail and distribute ongoing information and market commentary in a timely and informative manner.

Complete independent research projects and studies as requested, ensuring high accuracy and reliability.

Assist in the completion of individual and team projects, working collaboratively to achieve flawless results.

Diligent with strong listening and interpersonal skills, ensuring flawless execution of tasks.

Build and develop positive relationships with customers, investors, and analysts to facilitate market sentiment dialogue.

Perform the analysis of demand for critical metals, ensuring data-driven insights.

Provide crucial support for Teck Resources' Investor Relations and Corporate Development teams.

Produce regular monthly reports and prepare presentation slides as requested, maintaining outstanding quality.

Update and produce supply-demand balances for a variety of critical minerals, ensuring comprehensive and accurate data.

Maintain strict confidentiality on recommendations and conclusions of all work performed.

Provide analysis to support the development of Teck’s pricing strategies, ensuring driven edge and market alignment.

Ability to manage multiple conflicting problems and priorities, balancing customer needs against corporate objectives and successfully implementing solutions within team dynamics.

Qualifications

 

A college or university degree in business, economics, or a similar field.

Proven knowledge of the economic state of the mining industry, including supply/demand dynamics, world inventories, and the functioning of metal exchanges and off-exchange trading platforms.

Detailed understanding of the marketing process and the critical link between market research and direct marketing.

Outstanding proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to generate required documents and meet management reporting requirements.

Experience with Python, PowerBI, Bloomberg, or other data modelling tools would be a significant asset.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide concise and logical information derived from large amounts of data.

Ability to present corporate and commercial views through conferences, and customer and investor events, showcasing your expertise.

Salary Range: $73,000 - $90,000 

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
