Current Opportunity
 
We are currently seeking a Market Risk Control Lead to join our energetic and diverse team.
 
Key accountabilities will include:
 

Partnering with the Marketing & Trading team, Treasury, Procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure commodity and foreign exchange positions are accurately sourced, measured, and independently valued Ensuring independent market curve and market valuation solutions exist for all trading products, including exchange and OTC cash and derivative financial instruments Ensuring that the Mark to Market P&L is accurately reported to Marketing & Trading and Finance teams and appropriate controls and reconciliations exist for open trading positions Attributing changes in market values and providing commentary on movements in the P&L for all trading activities Developing and reporting on Value, Earnings, and Cashflow at Risk profiles Driving various technology and automation initiatives through the Middle Office team, working collaboratively with technology teams and the development of the Energy Trading Risk Management System Driving the Middle Office agenda across the organisation, ensuring new and emerging risks in our various products and markets are identified, escalated, and managed appropriately Liaising with other internal functions like pricing and trade accounting to resolve discrepancies and respond to internal queries

 

 

About You
 
To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, or a related field; additional qualifications in Financial Instruments, Risk Management, CFA, or similar preferredhighly regarded 5+ years in Middle Office, Product Control, Valuation, Treasury, or Market Risk roles with expertise in valuation and risk management for various financial instruments Strong understanding of valuations for both exchange and OTC cash and derivative financial and hedging instruments Strong Treasury and Trading Risk Management systems experience Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving; experience with Excel, VBA, BI tools, ,SQL, and/or Python highly regarded Driven to succeed and collaborate with high-performing individuals
