**Job Description:**
Miller Electric, an ITW company, is seeking a Market Segment Manager to join the Welding Accessories and Cutting team. As a Market Segment Manager, you will play a key leadership role, in understanding our customers’ pain points, working cross functionally to create solutions and driving a team who will help develop these new products for the market.
You will have the opportunity to help develop the strategy for the division including being part of the divisions annual and long range plans. You will help develop your team and work cross functionally to ensure we are meeting the needs of our customers.
**How you will Make an Impact:**
**Understand market opportunities and create a strategic plan:**
+ Responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of the Welding Accessories & Cutting Divisions Product Segments with focus on Growth Segments industry and associated segments and how Miller Electric can best serve these markets. This includes leveraging existing products as well as identifying unmet needs that can be fulfilled with New Product Development.
+ Develops tools to capture Market Insights and promote opportunities to the organization.
+ Develops Market Segmentation matrix illustrating wants & needs of this segment, competitive positioning, market drivers, technology trends, market size, sub-segments.
+ Develops business cases for identified new product development opportunities working with sales and product management teams by partnering with end users, engineering, operations, strategic suppliers, sales and divisional marketing teams.
+ Responsible for identifying opportunities in adjacent markets where ITW Welding does not have a current presence but can leverage its products and other resources to achieve a competitive advantage.
+ Attends market specific tradeshows and territory seminars and reports on key trends, customers, competitors, market drivers and technologies. Influences messages for key ITW Welding show strategies for targeted Market Segments.
+ Researches and reports competitive threats and provides recommendations on how to respond.
+ Monitors and maintains Market Segmentation market size, market trends and technology drivers.
**Collaborate cross functionally to drive new product development:**
+ Act as a process champion, driving cross-functional & supplier accountability, documentation, and milestone achievement from concept through commercialization.
+ Drive Product Portfolio Management and Channel Marketing efforts.
+ Partner with divisional marketing and sales teams to drive product portfolio, channel marketing strategies and go to market efforts.
+ Collaborate with sales and leadership to identify target accounts and support sales effort as needed. Effectively customizing, communicating, and presenting ITW Welding’s Value and Product Portfolio.
+ Works with Product Management to develop products that will grow sales and profitability; owns new product development through Create (Toll Gate) stage.
+ Works with divisional sales and marketing team to enhance marketing programs and sales/marketing tools leveraging new concepts, such as dollarized value propositions and power messaging, and ensures messaging is customized for the region and/or market segment.

+ Train, coach and support product managers and engineering teams in effective execution of each phase of the customer back innovation process.
+ Supports development & presentation of annual and long-range plans.
+ Achieve tangible results through a results-driven approach, leveraging past experience and track record in successful product development and market launches.
**What you need to do to be successful in this role** **:**
+ **Cross Functional Collaboration:** Lead a diverse group of individuals to continue to grow the business. Able to partner with other business function across the organization.
+ **Strategic Positioning:** Strong business and analytical skills to formulate strategic options including pursuing opportunities, identifying key partners, and recognizing product line gaps. Ability to position products within a market with keen understanding of how they will be used
+ **Dynamic Communicator** : Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
+ **Experience** : Experience with competitive analysis, market segmentation, and market research with ability to synthesize market, voice of customer, and product analytics into new solutions. Experience of following new product development tollgate process to successfully launch new products from conception to commercialization.
**Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in product management, business analysis, or a related field
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
+ Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
+ Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele.
+ Up to 50% Travel, based in Appleton, WI
