The Market Vice President of Operations, Medical Group role is the senior leader of Medical Group operations for the integrated Medical Group in the market.  Primary responsibilities include the effective operational and financial performance of the market Medical Group with specific focus on quality, access, patient, provider, and employee satisfaction, financial excellence, and overall culture.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Develops the long- and short-term tactics for Medical Group performance that align with BSMH’s mission, vision, operational objectives and strategic plans. 

In collaboration with local directors and managers, ensures the efficient operations of the market Medical Group practices.

Demonstrates accountability for markets by creating and leading business plan development, market analysis and research, and market performance metrics activities. 

Leads market implementation of strategic initiatives in collaboration with ministry and market leaders to ensure successful realization of operational goals.

Partners with hospital leadership to evaluate service delivery and ministry care expansion opportunities to ensure the market offerings are aligned with market demands.

In collaboration with the market Chief Clinical Officer, assists in identification of opportunities that improve the overall patient care, selection and adoption of evidence-based medicine guidelines and protocols.

Demonstrates knowledge of key financial indicators; Builds business case for actions; conducts risk/benefit analysis, etc.; Monitors and effectively manages financial performance of market and practices; Manages market budget and productivity standards.

Demonstrates P&L responsibility and accountability for market.  Actively monitors operating and financial indicators and ensures budget adherence.  Assesses capital equipment needs and develops pro-formas to support acquisitions as needed.

Actively participates as a visible leader both in the practices and as a part of the market senior leadership team.

Functions as a positive representative of the Medical Group and health system within the community.

Direct and develop clinical and operational leaders within the Medical Group.

 

Required:

- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or Related Field

- 5 years in physician practice management with increasing scope of management responsibilities and achievement.

- Effective communication, time management, organization skills.  All Microsoft Office products.

 

*Combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree.
