Marketing and Communications Coordinator - McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics

We are looking for a Full-Time Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join the UTHealth Houston McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics in Houston, TX 77030. In this position, you would lead the design, marketing, communications, branding, and initiatives with a large NIH consortium project, plus external vendors and constituents. In addition to this, you will work on writing monthly & detailed reports and contribute to research and promotional articles, media reports, publications, etc. You will also facilitate design and communication project requests with internal and external partners.

Position Summary:

Responsible design, marketing, communications, and branding; and initiatives with various departments plus external vendors, constituents. Creates and executes a comprehensive social media strategy that creates content that promotes the clinical enterprise and programs. Provides a broad range of marketing and communication support services.
 

Position Key Accountabilities:

Coordinates project workflow, timelines, and daily operation processes. Traffics and manages multiple creative, communications, and event projects.  Facilitates design and communication project requests with internal clients. Assists with the printing, assembly, and distribution of publications to faculty, staff, and alumni.  Uses desktop publishing software to create various print and electronic publications. Assists with design production, photo/image editing, and document layout/editing. Writes and/or edits and proofs copy for promotional, event, and collateral materials as needed. May assist in updating the department website with new photographs or site content. Designs and establishes a content plan for social media to support marketing initiatives. Creates content for social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, SnapChat, and Instagram.  Develops strategic campaigns that help drive traffic for various target positions. Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Certification/Skills:

Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or other related occupational field.

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of experience required in branding, marketing, writing, communication arts, and/or graphic design. 
 

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
