Marketing and Outreach Coordinator - Parks
Department: Parks Recreation & Natural Resources Start Here. Grow Here. Stay Here. In this role you will, serve as the Communication professional for the seven divisions of Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources. The position supervises the PRNR Outreach team and develops the design and content for a variety of projects including electronic deliverables (e-newsletters, social media campaigns, webpages, videos) and print deliverables (flyers, brochures, guides, booklets, posters, signage). Communications – Projects + Plan, create, and implement design concepts and layouts using applications such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for a variety of PRNR materials including events and activities guides, capital campaigns, signature event deliverables, annual reports, kiosks and signage. + Develop and coordinate written, verbal and electronic communications including media releases, talking points, kiosk content, signage, e-newsletters, social media campaigns and webpages. + Develop and/or manage social media campaigns. + Assist and/or lead the development of content in support of long-term strategic communication projects such as annual “Walk in Park”, capital campaigns and other initiatives. + Regularly revise outdated designs and research best practices to remain up to date in marketing efforts. + Facilitate the develop content and deliverables for public meetings. + Lead and facilitate publishing and updating PRNR Events Guide. Supervision and Management + Manage project goals, timelines and monitors outcome of communications materials. Adjust as necessary. + Serve as a department resource, lead subject matter expert in marketing/communications needs. + Supervise the Digital Media Specialist and Graphic Designer positions within the Outreach team and reviews all work produced as well as tracks designer progress and ensures deadlines are met. + Primary liaison between the PRNR Department and the Communications Department. + Maintain the PRNR Constant Contact distribution lists. + Maintain and track the status and progress of PRNR Outreach tickets using Smartsheet. Social Media Management + Develop concepts and scripts or assist subject matter experts in doing so for video segments. + Assists Communications Department with responding to citizen inquiries on social media platforms. About the Schedule Work Hours: + Full-Time, 40 hours per week. + Work hours 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. + Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc. About You Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Relations, Marketing, Mass Communications, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Illustration, or related field AND three (3) years of related experience. + -OR- MS, MA, MBA degree in above fields AND two (2) or more years of related experience. + Related professional experience may substitute for the required education. + A valid Florida Drivers license at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop), Smartsheet and project management software About Everything Else Starting Pay Range: Starting at $ 56,139.20 - $95,409.60, per year based on your experience.
