The Harmony, Rodale, and Convergent team is looking to fill the role of Marketing Assistant to support the marketing team for all three imprints. We are looking for an individual who can provide comprehensive support and assistance in the daily operations of this office, as well as title marketing support. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the publishing industry, specifically the marketing process.  

 

The individual who assumes this position must be able to manage a variety of administrative and creative projects. This individual must communicate and interact effectively, efficiently, and professionally with management and employees at all levels of the organization and with external clients and contacts. They must be a proactive self-starter eager to support the team and to prioritize effectively. 

 

This in-office role is based in New York City and will require someone in commutable distance to accompany the Directors to various author interviews, attend various author events, and mail books out as needed. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance at least 3 days a week in our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).

The Role: 

Maintaining calendars and scheduling   Coordinating meetings and taking minutes during   Processing expense reports   Providing agendas, PowerPoint presentations, and comprehensive itineraries   Handling special projects to support the overall efforts of the division  Assisting the imprint marketing team with title work, including influencer outreach, author platform building, consumer research projects, and audience development  Contribute content to e-newsletters, websites, and social networking vehicles used to promote titles/authors  Research trends, consumer insights, and marketplace competition 

 

The Essentials:  

Administrative experience ideally in a publishing environment  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a strong track recorder of following up where needed and completing micro & big picture tasks  Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities  Ability to work independently in a proactive manner and collaborate with the team when needed  A solutions-focused mindset and the dexterity to navigate busy environments and schedules  Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs (an expert’s knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel a plus)  A goal-oriented team player who can cultivate productive working relationships 

 

The salary for this position is $51,000.  All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
