We’re looking for an Events Marketing & Communications Manager to join Acuity Brands’ Intelligent Spaces team, which includes Distech Controls and Atrius. In this role, you will help us start and execute an event marketing initiatives to support sales growth and elevate our brand awareness. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall success of our sponsored and hosted events, leveraging your marketing skills to make each event a memorable experience.
You’ll work cross-functionally with colleagues in marketing, product, sales, and design. The ideal candidate is a has strong project management skills and the flexibility to support our overall marketing strategy as needed.
This role sits within a growing team dedicated to making buildings smarter, safer and greener within key verticals such as higher education, aviation, hospitality, healthcare, and more.
This role is perfect for a creative marketer with a flair for event planning and a passion for building brand presence through events.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Marketing Events & Webinars: Responsible for the development and implementation of tradeshow attendance and other events (virtual and in person) Serve as the day-to-day contact between all stakeholders including the internal events team and suppliers to keep deliverable timelines and status updates on track Provide options for event marketing experiences and make recommendations that align with the company’s goals and objectives Own the development of marketing material for events Ensure that event activities are part of an integrated marketing campaign and not stand alone Be able and willing to proactively help with other projects – we're a small but mighty team! Assist in the implementation of communication and marketing strategies for events aligned with our goals and objectives. Support the planning and execution of events, including logistics, budgeting, and participant engagement. Stay informed about current event management trends and techniques to enhance our event portfolio. Manage events budget, evaluate results against goals, and generate learnings for improvementContent Development: Create 360 content linked with each event: email, social, web, advertising Manage the content calendar to enforce timely scheduling, publishing, and distribution of a variety of marketing assets Ensure that we’re taking full advantage of our content with a distribution strategy that takes the medium into consideration Minimum Education/Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field or other relevant experience. 2+ years of experience in a similar marketing role
Skills and Minimum Experience Preferred:
Exceptional project management skills Creativity and an eye for detail The ability to juggle multiple projects while being flexible to accommodate shifting priorities Willingness to travel for domestic and global events Previous experience writing marketing copy for a variety of different formats, channels, and audiences. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills An owner’s mindset able to work in a remote work environment Knowledge of B2B marketing trends and best practices a plus Pardot and Salesforce experience a plus Experience with project management tools (Asana, Jira, etc) a plus
