Marketing Communications Intern

*This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week out of our Troy, MI headquarters location. Candidates must upload two-three writing samples to their profiles for consideration.

Job Summary:

Altair is looking for a creative, energetic marketing communications intern to help elevate the Altair brand through a variety of marketing communications channels including (but not limited to) content development, media relations, social media, and internal communications. 

The marketing communications intern will be part of Altair’s Integrated Marketing & Communications team and will report to the Vice President of Corporate Communications.

What You Will Do: 

You will play a role in three key areas that align with Altair’s communications and brand strategy; this will give you exposure and experience across a variety of marketing communications channels.

Content Development Write monthly LinkedIn newsletter and biweekly internal communications newsletter Write news releases, articles, and social media copy Media Relations Be part of the team to develop and launch a brand awareness campaign. You will assist with various aspects of the campaign, including pitching media, feature article topics, and more Social Media Collaborate with global social media manager to develop social media copy Ideate and execute Instagram campaigns, including writing copy, capturing photos/images, conducting light editing, creating Reels, etc. Help measure success and monthly/quarterly reporting Operate with confidentiality and discretion 

 

What You Will Need:

Student pursuing or having received a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field 1-2 years experience in a communications or writing internship role a plus Excellent writing skills with a keen ability to create uplifting, engaging, easy-to-read content Have an adaptable approach to learning and ability to pick things up quickly Sensitivity to Altair’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills Strong leadership qualities, including being proactive, communicative, and efficient Candidates must provide 2-3 writing samples that showcase their ability to communicate effectively and creatively across different formats
