Job Summary: As the Marketing & Communications Specialist, you will be a member of a dynamic and highly collaborative corporate team focused on commercial & municipal pursuits, project support, and creative engagement with the Shaw brand through marketing and communications programs. You’ll support the marketing team's work, which aims to maximize company profits and deliver on BD strategies, marketing campaigns, communications programs, and culture programs.

You will put your positive attitude, collaboration, and self-motivation skills to the test! You’ll utilize your exceptional organizational, project management, prioritization, and writing skills. You will ensure that our content is sourced, approved, and ready for prime time - every time. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow marketing, communications, and business development partners to ensure the right materials are available to meet the needs of the company and the audience we are working with/trying to reach. That will take many forms from day to day and quarter to quarter.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand Shaw’s brand and maintain a consistent and persuasive voice that aligns with our mission, culture, and values. Ensure materials and communications reflect the Shaw brand, voice, and intent. Understand and actively participate in the content update plan, ensuring that information leaving your desk is reviewed and approved.

Communications Programs:

Participate in annual comms strategy updates and development. In collaboration with and direction from the Marketing Director, maintain an editorial calendar on Monday.com with a detailed three-week outlook for internal and external communications. With the marketing director and manager, define KPIs for communications deliverables and maintain planned activities. Develop compelling and unique content (written and visual) that inspires, informs, and captivates clients, supports Shaw’s offices, and draws favorable attention to specialized services/differentiators. Compose and post online content on the company’s website and social media accounts. Compose and deliver mass email communications, ShawTV slides, short videos, and other marketing and communications products for various audiences. Provide monthly insight reports for each social channel and other external communications activities. Serve as part of the crisis communications support team, watching and logging requested data during and after a crisis event.

Marketing Programs:

Support the Marketing Manager in producing market materials by delivering an assigned schedule of tasks and on-demand projects. Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities and assist the marketing team in organizing various projects. Participate in event planning for outreach and sponsorship activities, conferences, project events, and company meetings. This may include attendance. Collaborate with the marketing team and other departments to plan and execute internal events and culture-building activities. Execute client surveys and communicate trends and results. Assist the Marketing Manager in building and populating proposal templates, sourcing an AIA, and customizing brochures. Update website content and maintain data in databases and marketing information sources.

Support the marketing team in completing various projects.
Maintain content in marketing systems of record.

Job Requirements:

Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design Communications, English, Journalism, or similar. 2-4+ years’ experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Related Field – priority given to A/E/C experience. Personable; able to collaborate across teams; works well with people in person and remotely. Ability to see both the forest and the trees – can quickly prioritize and reprioritize projects and deliverables. Persistent with good time management skills. Keen design eye and well-practiced with proposal layout, resumes, presentations, case studies, and other marketing assets. Strong copywriting and editing skills. Self-motivated and thrives working independently and in a team. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Excel, Constant Contact, Monday.com, and video editing software (preferred). Proficient with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Office-based position. Must have full range of motion and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. There will be some travel time required to visit other offices and jobsites throughout the region.

Compensation and Benefits: $59,000 - $65,000 Annual Salary for this Entry Level Position, Depending on Qualifications
