Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Marketing Technology and Analytics Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Manager of Data Engineering and Architecture. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the development, deployment, and operations of Google Cloud and AWS to support to goals of the business and marketing technology teams. The Role will also lead all data pipelines into and out of marketing applications Reporting to the Chief Architect and Engineering Lead, the person in this role will support the Marketing Technology and Analytics department’s objective to enable Toyota Marketing in many different dimensions.
What you’ll be doing
This position will lead the development, deployment, and operations of a series of cloud platforms to support to goals of the business and marketing technology teams. The solution will live on multiple clouds (AWS and GCP), with a strong focus on enabling various teams to use the right technology to solve business problems. The platforms will need to not only closely work with each other but also need to be connected to a broader ecosystem of cloud technologies owned by both Toyota and 3rd party vendors. Key areas of focus will be security, compliance, data movement, operational parity, and automated deployment of applications and data science models. The role needs to develop a team (both team members and consultants) that not only meets the current needs of business and technology teams, but is future-proofing the technology, looking for innovative new solutions, and educating the various teams on what is possible. Given the future-looking nature of the platform, this position will be contributing back to the larger platform community at Toyota and working with various leaders across Toyota's OneTech to constantly evolve platform technology.
What you bring
Practicing Data Architecture – Being able to create relational and non-relational data structures in both SQL and non-SQL databases and Data Integration patterns. This position requires hands-on Architecture.Data Product Development – Experience leading a team that builds a set of data products to be used by downstream business applications.Data Engineering – Ability to understand and apply different patterns to ingest, process & integrate data across applications and from external parties (e.g. Vendors).Ability to decompose architecture and Epics in a scrum methodology: Break any architecture or design into smaller components so that each component can be worked on independently and then integrated. Be able to decompose Epics into stories and tasks in conjunction with product managers. Lead Design and code reviews.Bonus if you have
Knowledge of Martech (mainly Adobe Experience platform) and Adtech platforms (mainly Google Marketing Platform) and some basic marketing conceptsGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Marketing Platform (GMP) experience10+ years of supporting multiple teams to develop automated and reusable solutions.Cloud Engineering – Experience leading the development and support of cloud capabilities/technologies to support the evolution of cloud use. Examples include helping support single sign-on with vendors, supporting a business unit with a POC of a new cloud technology, or building out a cloud technology as a service.Ability to contribute to overall enterprise and domain architecture.Ability to contribute to the overall platform build.Certification in AWS or GCPTool Evaluation and Platform research experience
