Job Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring a strong connection between strategic growth initiatives and marketing activities across the organization. This individual is a champion of both business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing and is dedicated to the acquisition and engagement of all types of target audiences, building relationships by identifying audience needs and wants with Corewell Health high value services/value prop.Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring and training team members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The Director, Marketing (Physician Referral Marketing) will be responsible for strengthening both the number of referrals to and the number of internal (employed) and external (independent) providers that refer to Corewell Health. To achieve that objective, this individual will need to improve the reputation and perception of Corewell Health among physicians and contribute to the development of the physician value proposition.
This role requires strong collaboration across the organization, bringing together brand marketing, service line marketing, physician marketing, internal communications, and physician liaisons to co-create a strategic vision and framework focused on building a stronger relationship with both employed and independent physicians. In developing a roadmap for Corewell Health’s physician outreach, the cross-functional team must incorporate the needs of various physician groups, considering recruitment, retention, and referral marketing. This individual also develop tactical marketing plans specific to physician referral marketing and engagement, while also helping other teams deliver plans connected to the strategy.
Given the focus on communicating for and with physicians, experience with physician marketing is a requirement for this position.
Essential Functions
+ Develop marketing strategies and plans aligned with system objectives and brand guardrails. Across various formats, executions, and platforms, areas of responsibility may include: advertising; collateral materials; direct mail, email and other lead generation vehicles; visual representation of company and services; product/program promotions; web content; management of outside agencies, vendors, and/or consultants necessary to support department requirements; seminars and workshops/trade shows; and others as assigned by senior management.
+ Build and maintain collaborative, transparent relationships on behalf of marketing, working with leaders and colleagues in and outside of the department to problem-solve and address barriers together.
+ Lead cross-functional project teams to produce work that achieves set metrics per campaign. Provide inspiring vision to motivate team members and hold them accountable for their project deliverables.
+ Make decisions and advance work independently. Challenge thinking and encourage creative problem solving. Enhance teamwork. Ensure deadlines are met with the ability to escalate overlaps and misalignments, as well as synergies and opportunities in all project work.
+ Performs essential human resources functions, including team member coaching and development, goal setting, and recruitment.
+ Engage in continuous industry/technical study, including best practices, to maintain professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary as an influencer within the department, organization and among professional peers.
+ Personifies mission, vision, and values, bringing culture to life within the team.
Qualifications
+ Required Bachelor's Degree Major in marketing, communications, journalism, advertising, business, or another closely related field.
+ Preferred Master's Degree MBA or other advanced degree related to marketing or communications.
+ 12 years of relevant experience in managing marketing programs and cross-functional teams in a large, matrixed organization with a demonstrated ability to collaboratively drive results. Required
+ 5 years of relevant experience 5 years of managerial experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage budgets. Required
