Job Description

TEAM SUMMARY

The goal of the marketing team is to increase brand awareness and usage, and to drive customer engagement, acquisition, and ultimately, business. This can be accomplished through a variety of strategy and tactics, including creating and distributing content, launching advertising campaigns, building partnerships with influencers, merchant partners and clients, and using data analytics to track and measure the success of efforts.

 

WHAT DOES A MARKETING DIRECTOR DO AT VISA

The Marketing Director will lead marketing strategy and plan management and serve as the primary point of contact, coordinating between marketing team members, other internal local/global stakeholders, and partners (as applicable). He or she will be responsible for managing various marketing campaigns and initiatives that connect Visa with its users and partners. He or she will be responsible for scoping, proposing, contracting, and delivering marketing projects, overseeing the team’s performance and ensuring the quality of deliverables. The full range of specific responsibilities for this role is detailed below.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

As a critical member of the Product and Partner marketing team, this position is responsible for helping the team achieve Visa’s business objectives and leverage the Visa brand platform in the B2B and B2C space as marketing. Helping to shape the future of commerce, the role will support Visa’s marketing across technology offerings, emerging products and other Visa’s unique offerings. The role involves developing the product marketing strategy and plan by partnering with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally. This includes collaboration with internal Sales, Product, Consulting, other marketing teams, as well as various external clients such as issuers, acquirers, merchants, and wallet partners. The role should be both a strategist and an executer, should have a “can do” and a positive attitude and must be strong communicator who functions well in a highly matrixed global environment as well.

Manage assigned co-marketing initiatives with Issuers, Acquirers, Merchants and Wallet partners, developing new business incl. Visa’s new and unique local sponsorship and marketing service.

Work with designated product teams to plan and execute communications strategies and events against product and category goals

Partner with the client marketing team who leads marketing service sell-in to Issuers, Acquirers and Merchants to understand clients’ objectives. Support them to develop effective marketing campaigns and execute best-in-class marketing services.

Support the consumer marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all executions. Specifically, regularly share the progress of product marketing projects and develop best-in-class consumer communications when required, ensuring alignment with the partners involved.

Provide investment business cases and performance evaluation against objectives. Set clear KPIs for campaigns and/or promotions including transaction, revenue growth goals and Visa brand preference targets.

Ensure plans are clearly documented, aligned with and communicated to all stakeholders

Strong Collaboration with Product team, CRM (sales) team, Country Management, and Consulting teams

Comply with all Finance, Legal, Risk and Audit requirements for Visa and the partners including contracts, Invoice Processing and completion certificates

Provide Marketing consulting assistance to multi-functional teams and sometimes direct with Clients and merchants

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

12+ years of work experience, particularly in both B2C and B2B marketing, witha Bachelor’s Degree.Strong written and oral communication skill both in Japanese and English5+ years of experience working with external advertising and marketing communications agency partners to deliver across paid, owned, and earned mediaAbility to think both strategically and creatively, while maintaining attention to detail.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and apply it to marketing strategies and executions to achieve desired results.Deep understanding of market trends, including digital marketing and media platforms.Provide regular status reports to Management teamWillingness to take responsibility and accountability for the successful delivery of projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Hands on, willing to dig in and roll up their sleevesAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment, and being able to juggle multiple tasks at onceOpenness to learning from mistakes and contributing to a culture of creativity and innovation
