Use strategic thinking to develop comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plans. Perform a variety of writing, design, and project management tasks while using good judgment and strong interpersonal skills to plan and execute marketing and communications tactics. Must understand all marketing and communications channels including traditional, digital, advertising, social media, newsletters, data analytics and reporting against KPIs. Must have strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, relationship-building, writing, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Agency or inhouse marketing experience preferred. **Responsibilities** 1. Serves as a direct line of contact between the Branding, Marketing, and Communications ( BMC ) team and department and program leaders 2. Develops marketing and communications strategies 3. Designs, coordinates, and executes a wide range of marketing and communications tactics 4. Writes content and copy for marketing and communications channels including website, advertising, email, newsletters, social media, presentations, and internal communications 5. Maintains robust relationships and ensures client satisfaction 6. Develops and communicates department information and accomplishments on various projects to its stakeholders, both internal and external 7. Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of marketing and communication tactics, adjusting plans as necessary, and reporting on performance against set KPIs 8. Serve as marketing and communications leader to collaborate with faculty members to further promote research to the public 9. Serve as leader and editor of monthly internal newsletter – curating and writing content 10. Coordinate paid advertising with external agency 11. Develops and adheres to project timelines 12. Manages budgets for each department and program 13. May perform other duties as assigned **Minimum Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
