Marketing Manager(E)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Manages marketing, advertising and communications programs to create local, regional and national awareness. + Offers and explores expert advice and conducts market research to develop innovative advertising, public relations and social media while creating new avenues of revenue for the facility. + Creates and supervises complete marketing plans for events, to include all available services: public relations, media planning/buying, traditional advertising, digital advertising, social media, promotional development, creating partnerships, non-profit opportunities, etc. + Develops marketing materials and procedures to function as an in-house advertising/PR agency when possible, including event graphics, brochures, sales decks, presentations, ad copy, press releases, newsletters and other content and materials. Consults with outside agencies when needed. + Creates and manages e-mail marketing, social media campaigns and website. Manages Marketing CMS/Database and all contacts. + Develops, maintains, and provides analytics about the facility website, social media and e-mail marketing program. + Monitors traditional and digital ad campaigns (digital, social, radio, TV, website, magazines, billboards and more). + Provides post-event reports, analysis, and regular status reports on marketing programs. + Coordinates promotions and special events with event promoters and facility personnel. + Manages the public relations image (brand) of the facility. Establishes and maintains relationships with media, industry influencers and key community and strategic partners. + Acts as facility spokesperson and liaison with the general public. Assists the General Manager with Crisis Management concerns and strategy. + Handles social media and press-related duties during events. + Assists with sales and implementation of sponsorship, private events and premium programs, including management, development, production, and distribution of promotional and collateral materials. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages marketing staff on a needed basis and any interns in the Marketing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training interns; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and Experience + Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college in Marketing, Sales, Public Relations or Advertising preferred. + Previous experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or related industry experience (i.e. venue marketing, advertising agency, media or sports team organization) required. + Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills and Abilities + Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the principals and practices of public relations programs, advertising, marketing and sales techniques. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. + Creative designer and thinker. + Detailed organization skills are essential. Should be able to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results. + Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, promotors, tours, employees, exhibitors, patrons, stakeholders and others encountered in the course of employment. + Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook. + Experience with design software such as Adobe Suite, Canva and PowerPoint. + Knowledge of website analytics tools such as Google Analytics. + Skillful in all aspects of social media, including paid campaigns and social media management software, such as Sprinklr. + Basic understanding of demographics and media buying ability. Ability to analyze ROI with all aspects of media campaigns. + E-mail marketing. + Possess skills and experience in budget preparation and purchasing procedures. + Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed. + Work independently while exercising judgment and initiative. + Maintains, at all times, high standards, positive attitude, and professional appearance. + Works within the guidelines set forth by ASM Global.
