About The Role:
As the Marketing Marketplace Sr. Manager, you will oversee and drive integrated marketing strategies to propel our marketplace growth. With a strong foundation in SEO, marketing principles, web design, and testing, you will lead the charge in optimizing our digital presence, improving user experience, and driving measurable business results. This role demands a strategic thinker who thrives on innovation, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Web Optimization, SEO, Developers, and Agency Partners, as well as senior leadership, to develop and execute marketing strategies that enhance our platform, expand our offerings, and drive consistent growth. This role offers significant room for growth as we scale our platform and explore new possibilities for our marketplace. You will work with a strong SEO foundation and a team eager to drive new and qualified traffic to the website, increasing the visibility of the Extra Space Storage brand while building and maintaining external partnerships.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and execute marketing strategies to grow traffic, enhance user experience, and support marketplace expansion.
Responsible for managing the marketplace, collaborating with existing partners, and building relationships with potential new partners to enhance brand visibility through strategic approaches
Design and implement initiatives that integrate SEO, web design, and CRO (conversion rate optimization) to maximize results.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with broader business goals.
Own the SEO strategy, ensuring alignment with broader marketing objectives.
Conduct competitor analysis to identify content gaps, technical opportunities, and innovative strategies.
Leverage industry-standard tools (SEMRush, Ahrefs, ScreamingFrog) to monitor performance and uncover insights.
Partner with the data science team to develop insights that inform content creation and strategy.
Report regularly on KPIs, testing outcomes, and strategic adjustments to leadership.
Manage an SEO Specialist and collaborate closely with dedicated SEO developers and data scientists.
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and cross-team collaboration.
Apply technical SEO best practices, including schema markup, meta-data optimization, and linking strategies.
Oversee website performance improvements, including speed optimization and mobile-friendly enhancements.
Stay ahead of industry trends, technologies, and algorithm changes to maintain a competitive edge.
Conduct competitor analysis to identify content gaps and new opportunities
Work with SEO developers to create and implement new pages and content across the website

Demonstrated success in managing teams and cross-functional projects.
Clearly explain to a web development team your needs and understand the technical components of website, design and expected behavior.
Data-driven mindset with a strong ability to analyze and interpret performance metrics
Experience with marketplace platforms and understanding of their unique SEO requirements
Willingness to utilize new technology and understanding of basic AI capabilities
Education and Experience:
Degree in Marketing, or related field
8+ years in manager role within Marketing or related position either with an agency or for a single brand.
Experience developing websites, HTML, and standard mark-up preferred
Strong experience in content development & strategy
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Performs sedentary work in an office environment with limited lifting (less than 10 pounds) or walking required. Close visual acuity required to perform work at computer terminal. No exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires repetitive typing motion, talking, hearing, grasping and feeling.
