Marketing Mix Modelling & Automation Manager

Job Description Responsible for leading the co-development, implementation, and optimization of advanced econometric models to measure and analyze the performance of marketing channels, media spending, and promotional activities with the intent to inform marketing budget and strategy. This role will focus on maximizing return on investment (ROI) by providing actionable insights, improving marketing efficiency, and optimizing budget allocation through data-driven analysis and process automation. The MMM Manager will oversee cross-functional collaborations to build and maintain data infrastructure, automate budgeting processes, and provide data solutions that empower stakeholders in marketing, finance, data science and business units.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MMM Model Co-development, Execution & Operationalization:

Design, co-develop, and co-maintain advanced statistical and econometric models to evaluate marketing effectiveness across all channels (digital, traditional, offline).Collaborate with data scientists, engineers and external partners to gather, clean, and process large datasets from various sources, ensuring robust data pipelines for modeling and analysis.Validate model output for correctness and ensure thresholds are on an acceptable levelEstablish operational processes across teams to regularly refresh the models, enable teams to effectively utilize the model’s output, overall driving the operational activities required to support the model’s implementation within the appropriate marketing activities. Identify opportunities for model and process improvement, including data enhancements, methodology refinement, and emerging tools.Lead initiatives to test and validate new data sources, attribution models, and analytical tools to enhance the effectiveness of MMM insights.

Budget Process Automation & Database Management:

Lead the automation of budget tracking, allocation, and forecasting processes using scalable tools, improving efficiency and accuracy in budgeting activities.Build and maintain databases that support data storage, retrieval, and transformation, ensuring data integrity for MMM and broader marketing analytics needs.Implement and manage data quality controls and automation processes, working closely with the budget team, finance and IT to ensure smooth integration with budgeting and planning systems.

Data Infrastructure Development:

Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to design and implement data infrastructure that supports MMM and other marketing analytics initiatives.Develop and maintain data warehouses and ETL processes, enabling seamless access to high-quality data for modeling and decision-making.Lead projects to integrate new data sources and enhance data flows to support evolving business needs and model accuracy.

Analysis & Insights:

Translate model outputs into actionable insights and recommendations to optimize marketing mix, media investment, and resource allocation.Provide forecasts and scenario planning for various budget allocations, campaigns, and marketing initiatives to inform strategic decision-making.Develop dashboards and visualization tools to effectively communicate key metrics and insights to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:

Act as a trusted advisor to marketing, finance, and senior management by presenting findings and insights to inform marketing strategy and investment decisions.Work closely with media planning, brand, and finance teams to integrate MMM findings into planning cycles and adjust strategies based on model results.Educate cross-functional partners on the principles of MMM and the impact of different marketing levers.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Proficiency in statistical modeling tools (e.g., R, Python) and data manipulation in SQL.

Expertise in econometrics, regression modeling, time-series analysis, and machine-learning algorithms.

Familiarity with database management and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift).

Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Microsoft Excel

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Analytical Skills: Ability to translate complex data and model outputs into clear, actionable insights that drive marketing and financial impact.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to present findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences.

Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the media landscape, marketing channels, consumer behavior, and the impact of external factors (e.g., seasonality, macroeconomic trends).

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

College Graduate; advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or PhD) is preferred

At least 5 years of work experience in any financial management/quantitative/qualitative analytics discipline

Driving financial performance in a dynamic business environment. Knowledge of telco KPIs is an advantage.

Planning and forecasting financial performance within a matrix organization structure.

Business partnering & ability to influence strategic decisions with financial insights, especially with senior management.

Managing a high degree of complexity, bringing together financial, commercial, operational, and people considerations, to secure the best outcomes
