Marketing Operations Specialist

SUMMARY

The Marketing Operations Specialist reports to the Director of B2C Marketing Operations.  This position is responsible for end-to-end execution of all B2C email campaigns, including both transactional and marketing campaigns. This role is also responsible for building HTML email templates, configuring audience segmentation and targeting based on strategy provided by marketing teams, tracking and reporting of all campaigns, manual opt-out/unsubscribes, and configuration of the CRM platform to achieve marketing goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Execution of B2C email campaigns, delivering marketing and transactional emails. Troubleshoot email templates for proper rendering in a variety of email clients. Monitor, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of email initiatives for maximum performance, and develops recommendations to optimize these programs. Aggregate metrics across multiple campaigns. Management of opt-out/unsub process. Collaborate with developers to implement data import solutions. Validating audience data and troubleshooting for basic errors. Execute A/B split tests, build emails with dynamic data, and implement campaigns with multiple touch points.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of HTML/CSS coding for email template creation. Ability to create a complete HTML template based on an image file. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve HTML rendering issues using Litmus or similar. Experience with media queries and coding for multiple email clients, including desktops, mobile, tablets, night mode, etc. Knowledge of email marketing best practices such as creating email templates, dynamic content, testing methodologies, list segmentation, drip campaigns, deliverability, and CAN-SPAM laws. Use Excel, Google Sheets, and CSV files to manage and manipulate audience and reporting data. Experience validating audience data and troubleshooting for basic errors. Ability to collaborate with developers to implement data import solutions. Basic knowledge of inbox placement tests and seed lists. Basic experience with IP warming, IP reputation, blacklists, and using reputation tools like Everest. Understand how to use dynamic data to create multivariate campaigns with different messaging for subsegments. Understanding of Google Analytics and how to implement UTM parameters for accurate click and conversion tracking. Experience executing A/B split tests and identifying winning campaigns. Ability to segment and target audiences based on data parameters and create subsegments for dynamic content. Minimal experience with image editing software. Experience with MS office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent campaigns and projects. Detail-oriented and organized. Experience with Workfront a plus 2 years of experience working in email marketing. Experience with at least one commercial email marketing platform, such as Salesforce, Marketo, Message Gears, Hubspot, etc. Experience with PostUp preferred. Experience with both marketing and transactional emails. Omni-channel experience a plus.
