Marketing Operations Specialist

We're looking for a Marketing Operations Specialist  to join our team in London as part of our Marketing function.

Your Role: You will be responsible for driving operational excellence within the LIONS division marketing team and is a key link between the Marketing team and the central Digital Marketing team. You will be a single point of contact for driving campaign execution, and will be expected to pre-empt operational challenges, create solutions and execute on them. 

You will be primarily focused on the Contagious and LIONS Learning brands and their products, though there is scope to work across other products in the LIONS portfolio as brands grow and develop. 

Working with the Digital Marketing, Marketing and Creative teams, you will be responsible for supporting Marketing activities for the LIONS brands: 

Driving marketing campaign execution, on time and within budget. 

Translating strategic marketing plans into operational workstreams, and acting as a liaison and buffer between delivery teams (Creative, Marketing Strategy & Planning, and Digital Marketing).

Handle and maintain LIONS marketable data - building audience segments, providing data requests to the business, and maintaining a clean and segmented database. 

Providing regular reporting to the wider business - conducting own email analysis and coordinating with the Analytics team to identify key campaign takeaways. 

Ensuring proper ways of working are maintained, and being a champion for best practise and proper project management. 

Ensuring campaign risk is mitigated and communicated to stakeholders 

Coordinating delivery teams and deadlines in order to meet planned go-to-market dates 

Key Responsibilities 

Initiating campaign/programme kick-off sessions with contributors and stakeholders across the business including but not limited to: marketing strategy and planning, content, design, marketing performance & automation and data. 

Working with the Marketing Automation team to ensure accurate audience lists are defined and constructed in line with campaign or programme goals.

Ensuring campaign delivery is on track with any blockers/slippage escalated. 

Independently manage own workflow and task tickets in Monday.com (our workflow management tool). 

Providing regular periodic status reports tracking campaign initiatives against deadlines.

Supporting with ad hoc “light” data requests as needed.

Developing regular reporting cadences with stakeholders, and working with the Digital Analytics team to ensure measurement frameworks are set up to track campaign performance, compiling and sharing reports and dashboards with the appropriate audience(s). 

Scheduling and facilitating kick off meetings, status meetings, and Work in Progress meetings (Forecast vs. Budget.) including a weekly stand-up, capturing and circulating updates and actions. 

Ensuring creative and digital assets (included but not limited to: emails, display ads, social ads, landing pages, microsites, event collateral) are delivered on time, and to specification for activation. 

Ownership of accurate application naming conventions and UTM provision for Marketo programs and assets, for consistency and ease of reporting. 

Working with theProject Ops Lead to develop a framework for documenting learnings from programmes/campaigns, and troubleshooting log.

Liaising with peers across MOps and Digital Marketing to maximise learnings across the portfolio as well as consistently improve our output and ways of working. 

Covering for the other LIONS Division Operations specialist when absent. 

Your Experience

Demonstrable experience in digital marketing, marketing operations, analytics or similar role is desired.

A data-driven mindset and a passion for story-telling through analytics. 

Marketo experience (ideally Certified) is highly preferable, and Salesforce knowledge is beneficial but not essential. If you have experience working with alternative marketing automation and data management tools, please make this known. 

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle numerous tasks of varying complexity at the same time is crucial. Organisation and efficiency is imperative to the role, and the successful candidate will operate best in a fast moving environment with a lot of autonomy. 

Strong interpersonal skills, resulting in the ability to strategize with cross-functional teams, execute marketing campaigns and navigate conflicting priorities. 

Exposure to direct marketing tactics, including email, paid media, events, sponsorships, and use of third-party data sources is essential. 

Technically capable, excellent communicator who is able to explain complex items to various stakeholders and understand projects that have different analytical goals and target different audiences. 

Competent understanding of GDPR and proper data management policies.
