​We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Market Outreach Specialist! In this role, you will communicate our program to retailers, train their staff to effectively market our offerings, and build strong relationships with retail management and sales teams across Consumers Energy electric territories. You will launch innovative initiatives—such as a retail pipeline campaign for appliance recycling—and collaborate closely with the CE marketing department to drive market share growth. The ideal candidate is self-driven, has excellent communication and reporting skills, and thrives in a dynamic environment that values respect, transparency, and accountability while advancing our mission of responsible appliance recycling and community benefits.​

For this opportunity, you’re a great fit if you can… ​

Cultivate enduring partnerships with existing retailers and proactively expand our network across Consumers Energy electric territories, with a focus on both established and new retail partners.

Conduct on-site training sessions for new retail partners and maintain ongoing communication through emails and calls, ensuring every team member fully understands our program’s goals and benefits.

Embrace a dynamic role that involves 60-75% travel across Michigan’s lower peninsula to efficiently cover our key markets and ensure consistent program engagement. Occasional overnight travel, will be provided a company vehicle.

Work hand-in-hand with the CE marketing team to refine marketing materials and offer insightful field feedback, as well as with the channel delivery team to shape and negotiate innovative retail initiatives.

Spearhead creative campaigns such as the appliance pipeline process and multifamily customer initiatives, leveraging retailer feedback to negotiate and implement effective strategies.

Generate comprehensive retail performance reports and statistics to monitor progress, demonstrating accountability and ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Play a pivotal role in event planning and serve as the primary liaison for our Habitat for Humanity collaboration.

2+ years experience in related field recommended
